THE WORLD WE LIVE IN

We see hate not just being spoken by many leaders but being expressed in violent acts. When hate is encouraged, it festers, percolates, and becomes a consuming fire. Every one of us is responsible for our actions. We need to choose to care for one another. I say choose to care for one another because it is a choice, also because we need to be concerned about each other’s well-being. The world we live in seems to be spiraling out of control. The very ones who trumpet tolerance cannot accept others with differing opinions. They demonize them and foment hate. We have seen this happen many times throughout history. The most violent political movements have been driven by hate. Each one of us is responsible for our actions. Resist the hate, don’t nurture the feelings, do what is right. Care for each other. Seeking to find common ground with each other. We all need to live our lives the best we can and get along with our neighbors. Getting along does not mean we agree on everything, but it does mean we acknowledge their right to believe what they do. Seek truth, strive to know what is right, and know we can be wrong. This is what life is about. The common struggle for all of us.
